Core reporting rules are the same worldwide, but some countries and cities have extra legal
requirements. Use the huntscammers region selector above to see background-check guidance that
may apply in addition to HuntScammers rules.
HuntScammers is designed to share information about scam behavior,
not to attack people you simply had a disagreement with. Only report when you believe
there is a real risk of fraud or deception from a scammer.
- Romance / dating scammers asking for money or gifts.
- Investment or crypto offers that seem fake or impossible.
- Fake companies, fake jobs, or fake websites collecting money or data.
- People who threaten or blackmail you for money or intimate photos.
- Phishing emails or links pretending to be banks, delivery services, or other services.
The clearer your report, the easier it is for other users hunting scammers to stay safe.
- Where you met: dating app, social media, email, job site, etc.
- Contact details: phone numbers, email addresses, websites, company names, usernames, profile links.
- What they said or promised: romance, investment, job, prize, emergency story, etc.
- What they asked for: money, bank details, ID copy, photos, crypto, gift cards.
- What you did: whether you sent anything or refused.
- Evidence: screenshots, payment proofs, or other files (hide sensitive parts if needed).
We want to protect victims and respect privacy and legal boundaries. Please do not include:
- Your own full address, full ID number, full bank/card details.
- Other victims’ names, phone numbers, or emails without their permission.
- Hate speech, insults, or threats of violence.
- False information or “revenge reports” made only because of a breakup or argument.
- Personal information about children or minors.
Reports that break these rules may be edited or removed to keep the huntscammers community lawful and safe.
Only report what you honestly experienced. If you are not sure it was a scam,
you can still describe suspicious behavior, but say clearly that you are not reporting a confirmed crime.
- Stick to facts: what was said, done, and requested.
- Avoid guessing about the scammer’s real identity, location, or motives.
- Do not accuse people publicly without any evidence at all.
When you report a scam, you are helping other huntscammers, but your own safety comes first.
- Do not contact the scammer again just to “get proof”.
- Block and report the scammer on the platform or social media where you met.
- Change passwords and contact your bank if you shared financial information.
- Hide or blur sensitive parts of screenshots before uploading (card numbers, IDs, documents).
After you submit a report, our system and team may:
- Review it for safety and rule violations.
- Connect it with other reports using the same phone, email, website, or company.
- Show warnings to users who search the same data in the future.
Your personal identity is kept private. HuntScammers focuses on patterns of
scam behavior so that others can recognize and avoid similar tricks from male scammers and female scammers.
