Report Help
You don’t need to be a legal expert to report a scammer
On HuntScammers, your real voice matters more than perfect wording. You simply
describe what happened in your own words. Follow these steps to prepare your report,
then use the dropdown at the top of the page to open the correct scam report form.
-
Step 1 – Make sure you are safe first
Before you think about hunting scammers, protect yourself.
- Stop sending money, documents, or photos immediately.
- Block the scammer on the app, social media, or email.
-
Change passwords and contact your bank if you shared any financial or card details.
If you feel in physical danger, contact your local authorities or emergency services
before doing anything else.
-
Step 2 – Collect basic information
Gather the details you remember. It’s okay if you don’t have everything.
- The name or username the person used.
- The phone number or email address they used to contact you.
- Any website or company name they claimed to work for.
- The profile link on a dating app or social media, if you still have it.
These details help other victims quickly recognise the same
male scammers or female scammers when they search on HuntScammers.
-
Step 3 – Save your evidence
Evidence makes your report stronger – but never risk your safety to get it.
- Take screenshots of chats, profiles, and payment requests.
- Save transaction receipts or confirmation emails (hide full card or account numbers).
- Keep everything in a clearly named folder on your phone or computer.
-
Step 4 – Think about what type of scam it is
This helps huntscammers connect your report with similar cases.
-
Romance / dating: fast “love”, emotional stories, constant
attention, then requests for money or gifts.
-
Investment / crypto: promises of guaranteed profit, screenshots
of fake earnings, pressure to “top up” or deposit more.
-
Fake company / job: asking for fees, training charges, or copies
of your ID and documents.
-
Blackmail / extortion: threats to share photos, videos, or personal
information unless you pay.
-
Other: anything else that feels dishonest, manipulative, or “too good
to be true”.
-
Step 5 – Write your story in simple words
On the report page, you’ll see a big text box. You can follow this simple structure:
-
How you met: app, website, email, social media, phone, etc.
-
What they told you: their job, country, family, “emergency”, investment offer.
-
What they asked for: money, documents, photos, investment, login codes.
-
What you did: whether you sent anything, refused, or blocked them.
-
How you realised: what finally made you feel it was a scam.
Don’t worry about grammar or spelling. On HuntScammers, honest stories from real people
are what help the community keep hunting scammers.
-
Step 6 – Read our reporting rules
To protect you and other victims, we have basic safety rules.
Please avoid sharing your own full ID numbers, full card details, or other victims’
private details in your report. If you haven’t already, you can review our
Reporting Rules before
submitting.
-
Step 7 – Submit your report on HuntScammers
Use the dropdown and button at the top of this page to open the right report form.
When you are ready, choose the type of scam (phone, email, company, or website) at the
top of the page. You will be taken to our secure report pages, where you can paste your
story, add details about the scammer, upload screenshots, and send it to us.
After you submit:
- Our system and team review the report.
- We connect it with matching phone numbers, emails, websites, or companies.
-
Other users searching those details will see warnings, patterns, and summaries –
helping them avoid the same male scammers and
female scammers.
Reporting a scam can feel emotional or embarrassing, but you are doing something powerful:
you are turning a bad experience into a clear warning that may save someone else.
Every honest report on HuntScammers helps our community keep hunting scammers.
